An example of our efforts to take meaningful steps toward a more sustainable future is our recent agreement to purchase all of the green power produced from a new wind farm in Texas for at least five years. More renewable energy from this project means less demand for electricity that’s generated from the burning of fossil fuels.
Ball State Breaks Ground on Nation's Largest Geothermal System
Construction of the country's largest geothermal heating and cooling system began Saturday at Ball State University. ..Within a decade, the university expects to heat and cool via geothermal means more than 40 buildings on its 660-acre campus, realizing significant annual energy savings and cutting carbon emissions by approximately 80,000 tons per year.In June 2007 Google completed a 1.6MW solar installation at our Mountain View, CA headquarters - the largest U.S. corporate installation at that time. We installed 9,212 solar panels that cover the rooftops of eight buildings and two solar carports at the Googleplex.
