The workshop celebrates who you are today and positions you for your “tomorrow”, by helping you define your career, identify your gaps, and create an action plan to achieve your goals.

-  Define Your Optimal Green Career Vision

-  Write Your Green Career Goal Statement(s)

-  Identify Your Career Gaps

-  Re-position and Polish Your Resume, Your Online Presence and Cover Letter for Your Green Career

-  Create a Green Career Action Plan, using TTG process, tools and coaching

Prerequisites

It is helpful to already have some knowledge of sustainability or “green”.

Bring a copy of your resume, cover letter and/or any documents that represent your career accomplishments.

Optionally, attendance at the Transitioning to Green program, World of Possibilities Forum is recommended..

Green Knowledge and Networks Workshop

Overview

To embrace Sustainability, also known as “green”, means to embrace being a continuous learner – always engaging in reading, activities, research, and conversations that further your knowledge in a constantly changing and evolving approach to see the world holistically.

This workshop teaches you the logic and expectations of using Web Technologies not only to search for a job but to deepen your knowledge of industries and sectors related to your capabilities, passion, and marketplace demands.

Target Audience

Professionals seeking to develop superior research skills to advance your green knowledge, career trends and professional network.

Goal

Maximize the use of emerging Web Technologies and social media to advance your job search by developing your green knowledge of your chosen industries and sectors, and confirming or modifying your career path, matched to marketplace demands.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this workshop, you will be able to:
1. Modify your approach to your job search by developing deep knowledge about green jobs and the green economy

2. Develop proficiency around Web Technologies used to pursue your green career path via a green economy lens

3. Develop competencies around:

- Research/ action learning

4. Perform hands-on research using the internet, the TTG Knowledge Exchange and social media platforms to advance your knowledge on your career path

5. Complete elements of your Career Action Plan using the TTG Knowledge Exchange, internet research and Web Technologies

Prerequisites

Basic computer literacy is key for successful participation.

If available, bring your own laptop or mobile device (iPad, Notebook, etc).

Be aware that cell phone screens may be too small to navigate for extended periods of time.
